The Defense Industrial Plant Equipment Center, Memphis, TN, 1963-1994, provided a service to the US taxpayer by maintaining a reserve and redistributing certain equipment to the military services and other government agencies. As of 1994, functions were transferred to the Defense General Supply Center, Richmond, VA, now the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR). The DSCR organization that now provides some services previously offered by DIPEC is the Industrial Machinery Division. |
