Geophysical Year
The year 2007 will mark the 50th anniversary of IGY. I was only six years old at its start. As I later became interested in and aware of science, I heard tales of the research done during the IGY. When I saw the movie "October Sky", which involved events of that year, my interest was renewed. I began to collect IGY related artifacts. The movie recreated a Science Fair location displaying an IGY banner, an item I would very much like to find. |
